ORBA attends SEMA California Rally
Earlier this month, representatives from the Off-Road Business Association (ORBA), including CEO Fred Wiley and members of the Board of Directors, met with representatives of the Speciality Equipment Market Association (SEMA) and California State Representatives in Sacramento to discuss multiple topics of concern to the automotive industry and OHV community.
This meeting of industry and state representatives focused on a handful of issues affecting the automotive aftermarket and the roughly $51 billion industry that employs over 1 million Americans. With an emphasis on cultivating a business-friendly environment and stimulating job growth, the conversation also covered topics like Zero-Emissions Vehicles (ZEV), Manufacturing Tax Credits, Oceano Dunes, Smog Check and Emissions Compliance, and Proposition 65.
Fred Wiley, CEO of ORBA, says, “Communication with State and Federal legislators is an integral part of what ORBA and SEMA do. Without this open line of communication, our efforts to represent motorized recreation and the OHV community would be hindered. This year’s SEMA California Rally represented a significant step forward in our ongoing conversation with key lawmakers in the State of California”.
